Bad 25th Anniversary: Smooth Criminal

Here is another classic MJ video: Smooth Criminal.  Featuring the famous "Lean".

Bad 25th Anniversary: Dirty Diana

And the hits keep rolling! Here is the 5th consectutive single from Bad to top the Billboard hot 100- Dirty Diana.

Bad 25th Anniversary: Man in the Mirror

Michael addressed some serious issues on this song.  He urges us all the only way to change the world is to start with yourself.

Bad 25th Anniversary: The Way You Make Me Feel

This was the 3rd single from Bad, following Bad- the song. After the success of the previous single, it did not disappoint.  It sent Jackson to the summit of the hot 100 once again, and also topped the r&b/hip-hop songs  charts as well.  And, of course, the video was another huge productions.  Here is one of the most iconic videos of all time.

Bad 25th Anniversary: Bad

In celebration of Bad the album,  I am of course going to post songs from the album.  So, here is Bad- the song off of Bad- the album. Now,  the original video is much longer.  It was a mini-movie and starred an up-and-coming Wesley Snipes.  The single reached # 1 on the hot 100, as well as many other countries around the world.

Just Vids: Miley Cyrus- Party in the USA

I have posted Disney Channel songs 2 days in a row now (see Just Vids: Jonas Brothers- Burnin' Up & Just Vids: Demi Lovato- Give Your Heart A Break).  I like it, and I have decided to just post some more of my favorite little cheesy songs from kids channels.  Here is ol' Hannah Motana (Miley Cyrus).

Just Vids: Demi Lovato- Give Your Heart A Break

Disney Channel can really turn out some hit makers, it seems.  I just discovered Demi Lovato.  After doing some research, I learned that she got her start on Disney Channel a few years back.  She is a great singer!  I kept hearing this song on the radio,  and said to myself, "Wow!" I had no idea Disney did it like this!

Just More Artist (8/29/2012)

I am keeping with this whole summery, island breeze thing.  Here is a picture another one of my favorite artist- EVER!  (Chillin' in a hammock).  I should have showed her sooner, because she is seriously one of the tops!

Just Music : Taylor Swift- We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together

Earlier I talked about Taylor Swift's new single going to # 1 (see Music News: The Charts (8/27/2012)).  So I decided to post the song.  This is a lyrics video. Watch it, its cool.

Music News: The Charts (8/27/2012)

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift rockets 71 spots straight to the top of the billboard hot 100 this week with her latest single We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.  This song has broken the record for single week downloads by a female artist with 623,000 downloads.  Shockingly, this is only her 1st hot 100 chart topper!  After conquering the rest of the world, and many of the other charts on Billboard, Swift has finally conquered the hot 100.   Here is a look at the top 5 on the hot 100 and r&b/hip-hop songs chart as usual:

Just Vids: Fun. featuring Janelle Monae- We Are Young

This song has been  # 1 on just about every chart in the world, including the hot 100 for 6 weeks.  This song sounds like it is destined to be on commercials, and the video looks like a big cell phone commercial to me.

Just Vids: Monica- Until It's Gone

This song was another scrapped 1st single from Monica's new album- New Life.  I love it, and I feel like it had what it took to be a real hit, but lots of artist, I read, have been have trouble with their record labels changing over and things like that.  Nevertheless, I watched this video, and it seriously almost made me cry.  I am not one to get really emotional over songs, but I guess this one makes me think about my lost loves ones.  I really love when Monica hits that high note, (some where towards the middle) when she goes "One thing that KNOW!"  (its on the KNOW, that's why I capitalized it)- but just check it out before I get carried away.

Just Vids: Trey Songz- Heart Attack

As you know, I have not watched many music videos recently, so I am just catching up.  This video has been out for a few months, but I just watched it.  I have been listening to the song on the radio, though, and it is one of my favorite songs out now.   Heart Attack is the first single off Trey Songz's latest album, Chapter V, which was released yesterday (8-21-2012).  This song has already reached # 42 on the hot 100 and # 3 on the r&b/hip-hop songs charts, making it his 15th top 10 hit on that chart.  Trey Songz and Kelly Rowland like to work together alot now-a-days, huh?  Here is the album cover:

Just Vids: Kanye West- Homecoming

I am having my very own homecoming this week (I am going to visit my hometown. It is actually  outside of Chicago).  So, in the spirit of this occasion, I am posting Kanye West's ode to the Windy City.  This song, like many of Yeezy's song, just makes me feel good!  Enjoy!

Not so Random Rihanna???: Rihanna talks with Oprah

Rick Ross Week: The Collabs IV

Just when you think Diddy is completely irrelevant, he finds his way back in a video dancing around.  How did he come back this time?  He pulled apart Danity Kane, inprisoned Dawn and an English chick and made them into a group- Diddy Dirty Money- (I am just kidding about the imprisonment).  They released an album (Last Train to Paris) to critical acclaim.  The single, Hello Good Morning, was a breakout hit for the group, landing at # 27 on the hot 100 and # 13 on the r&b/hip-hop songs charts, respectively.  I am posting 2 version: 1 featuring T.I. and 1 featuring Nicki Minaj.  Both featuring Rick Ross, of course.

Featuring T.I.

Remix featuring Nicki Minaj

Rick Ross Week: The Collabs III

Mary J. Blige featuring Rick Ross- Why.  I like this version, but the remix is dope!  Check this out too, though.

Rick Ross Week: The Collabs II

This song was the original 1st single from Monica's album- New Life but was shelved, but I still liked it.  It samples Biggie Smalls Who Shot Ya, and features Rick Ross, of course. Here is Anything (To Find You).

Rick Ross Week: The Collabs I

I am going to post a couple of songs that Rick Ross is featured on. Here is Red Cafe featuring Ryan Leslie and Rick Ross- Fly Together.

Rick Ross Week: The Boss

Let's throw it back again! This time even further to Rick Ross' sophomore album Trilla.  I am talking about The Boss.  Now we all know that he has about 50 songs titled The Boss, or some variation of that, but I am talking about the song featuring T-Pain.  This was released as the 2nd single from Tilla, and is Rick Ross' most successful single as a lead artist thus far peaking at # 17 on the hot 100 (# 5 r&b/hip-hop songs).  It can be considered  his signature song.

Rick Ross Week: About MMG

Along with being a hip-hop heavyweight on his own, Rick Ross has also joined forces with some up-and-coming rappers and singers and created his own record label- Maybach Music Group.  They have released 2 allbums, showing off the many talented artists on the label, which include Wale, Meek Mill, and former boy band frontman, Omarion (now nicknamed Maybach O, haha!).  Here are some of the artists signed to MMG.

Wale

Meek Mill

Omarion (Maybach O)

French Montana

Rick Ross Week: Rick Ross' Discography

I just wanted to post all of Rick Ross' album covers for those of you that don't know about them.  So here they are in chronological order:

Port of Miami (2006)

Trilla (2008)

Deeper Than Rap (2009)

Teflon Don (2010)

God Forgives, I Don't (2012)

All of these studio albums have peaked at # 1 on the billboard 200 albums chart, except for Teflon Don, which peaked at # 2.  Combined they have sold nearly 5 million copies in the U.S.

Rick Ross Week: B.M.F.

We are going back to Teflon Don.  This is B.M.F. (Blowin' Money Fast) featuring Styles P.

Larry Hoover

Big Meech

Here's the video:

Rick Ross Week: I'm On One

Here is an instant classic for those who like to party just a little too hard. Its DJ Khaled and the usual suspects: you know, everybody else and they mama.  Does anybody know how many times Rick Ross goes HUH! on this song?

Brandy featuring Chris Brown- Put it Down: Official Music Video

The world premiere for Put it Down was last night. It features Brandy showing off her dance moves with Chris Breezy. The scene outside is very Michael Jackson- The Way You Make Me Feel.  Give it a look-see.

Put it Down Premiere!!

I just found out Brandy will appear on 106 & Park today (8-14-2012) and will world premiere her latest video.  They have released a teaser for the video.  Brandy is looking good, throwing it back to her signature braids.  Here's the teaser:

So check her out today. 106 & Park airs on BET.

Good For You!

Several of the songs that I have featured on my blog are shooting up the  r&b/hip-hop chart!  Miguel's Adorn is at # 11,  Keyshia Cole featuring Lil Wayne's Enough of No Love is at # 13, and Brandy featuring Chris Brown's Put it Down sits at # 23. I am really glad, because I only feature artist and music that I like on my blog, so it feels good when they are doing well.  Keep them rising you guys.

Good For You!!!

Rick Ross Week: Aston Martin Music

Let's throw it back to 2010- I know, really far, but try to remember.  Rick Ross teamed up with lady killer, Drake, and the talented, Chrisette Michele for one of his most commercially successful singles to date- Aston Martin Music- as opposed to Maybach Music- its still all good. This song is off of Rozay's Teflon Don album. It reached # 30 on the hot 100 and # 2 on the r&b/hip-hop songs.

Rick Ross Week: Rick Ross + Usher II

Looking 4 Myself album cover

"The Dynamic Duo" is at it again, this time teaming up on Usher's 3rd single, Lemme See, from his album, Looking 4 Myself.  This song has reached # 2 on the top r&b/hip-hop songs.

Rick Ross Week: Rick Ross + Usher I

Rick Ross have been teaming up alot lately, turning out hits.  Lets look at them.  This song is the lead single off of Rick Ross' latest album, God Forgives, I Don't, which debuted this week at # 1 on the billboard 200 (see Rick Ross Week).  Usher and Rick Ross, who both can do no wrong in music right now as far as I am concerned,  have scored with this one.  I love it!  It has so far reached # 15 on the hot r&b/hip-hop songs chart.

Rick Ross Week

Yes! Its Rick Ross, Ricky Rozay, The Boss! Huh!(Rick Ross voice).......Maybach Muzik!!!  Rick Ross' new album, God Forgives, I Don't is in stores now.  It debuted at # 1 this week on the Billboard 200 albums charts, making it his 4th #1 album, selling 218,000 copies.  Its his biggest selling week ever.  Rick Ross is arguably one of the most popular rappers out right now.  I see him as being as prolific as Lil Wayne now-a-days.  Since 2011, he has accumulated 18 top 40 songs on the billboard top r&b/hip-hop songs charts! So in honor of his many accomplishments, I am going to celebrate with Rick Ross videos.
