Thankful for a new car

Thankful for a new home

and another

Thankful for a new job

and another

and another

then two,

then an old one again,

then another,

thankful for a sister-in-law,

and my brother,

who kept me up

when they kicked me out and put me down

and all sorts of colorful personalities I have found

that for the first time,

I met my nephew

Thankful that I have a different view

that I realize that I’m me

I realized that I’m free

I realized I was chained

but thankfully,

this year,

get a chance to start over

and another

and another

Thankful for never ending

Mercy and Grace.
