Still Climbing (1997)
Well, if you've watched R&B Divas, you know that there has been discord between Syleena Johnson and former Brownstone frontwoman, Nicci Gilbert. Awesomely enough, they both previously recorded a song, If You Play Your Cards Right, which was originally by the group One Way. So I thought it would be interesting to compare the two covers. We won't include the original (we will place it in a league of its own). I enjoy all of them, but I personally like Syleena's the best. That thing she does right before "Its what you like to do" in the middle of the 1st verse alone, destroys everything else for me... Listen to both down below:
